10 SONGS… (VOL. 18) BY SERIE NR.
“10 songs for recognizing the difference between alone and lonely”
I met Alix quite a few years ago when we both had studios in the same building. It’s been a real joy to see her return to and expand her practice. Last winter, I treated myself to one of her scarves—spotted it hanging at Eggspace and fell in love instantly. It reminded me of those fleeting moments when you try to catch the green ray.
Working exclusively with 100% silk—painted and finished by hand in Antwerp—SERIE NR. emerged from an exploration of the possibilities within a single hue. When touched by light, the colours seem to liberate themselves. Each piece is unique, like a passing moment—impossible to recreate. The name itself hints at a fascination with documentation and cataloguing, something we clearly share, while also intentionally removing the maker’s identity to let the silk speak for itself.
As I write this, we’re sharing a shop with and at BOOOOOKS. Alix made us a 10-song playlist, and it’s beautiful—quite the soundtrack for the airy installation she created for the space.
